Cosmic Friend / Salty / Xi Jie 晞竭

(she/elf)

I'm an artist practicing the Akashic Records since 2020. It helps me everyday to understand, heal, ground, act from wisdom, make art, and live in magic.

Whoever you are, I commit to holding tender and potent space for everything you are going through. I am a compassionate, non-judgmental, and patient cosmic friend, gently guiding you towards your magical, alive self* while surrendering to all that is a mystery.

While acknowledging there are different ways of accessing the Akashic realm, I work with the Akashic masters aka allies we can find grounding and wisdom to work through blocks, affirm through poetic imagery, dream new creative possibilities and locate ways of sustaining your life.

With over ten years' experience independently producing, directing and facilitating intimate collaborative art projects and creative endeavours involving personal histories in diverse settings with people from all walks of life, I bring a deep care for the state of others' hearts and the prismatic trajectory of their souls.

As an empathic, Cancer-stellium artist striving everyday to learn my own destiny as it relates to my art-making, I have a particular interest in working with fellow artists, cultural workers, activists, or anyone with an open or feral heart to understand their cosmic blueprint. I strive to be an ally for queer, trans and BIPOC folx, anyone exploring the gender spectrum or anyone with neurodivergence, anxiety or other states of being.

I have an practitioners certificate from the Akashic Light Academy, a modern-day mystery school founded by Tarra Tae, and an MFA in art & social practice from Portland State University. I practice yoga, qigong, movement and tarot, as well as write, draw, make performances, films, installations, and collaborative projects.

More about my ancestry/location - I am a descendant of Chinese immigrants from Fujian and other parts of Southern China. They came to Singapore and Malaysia, part of the Nusantara (the old Javanese word referring to Maritime Southeast Asia), which is indigenous to the Orang Laut and the Malay world. I lovingly acknowledge my ancestors and the spirits and beings that came before me in this and past lifetimes, and continue to learn about them.

All drawings on this site are by me, many from years before I started awakening to the cosmic soup. Available for commission.

* Audre Lorde: “We tend to think of the erotic as an easy, tantalizing sexual arousal. I speak of the erotic as the deepest life force, a force which moves us toward living in a fundamental way...For once we begin to feel deeply all the aspects of our lives, we begin to demand from ourselves and from our life-pursuits that they feel in accordance with that joy which we know ourselves to be capable of...In the way my body stretches to music and opens into response, hearkening to its deepest rhythms, so every level upon which I sense also opens to the erotically satisfying experience, whether it is dancing, building a bookcase, writing a poem, examining an idea. That self-connection shared is a measure of the joy which I know myself to be capable of feeling, a reminder of my capacity for feeling.”
